Raising a Monarch

I found a monarch egg on a leaf about 11 days ago and it has hatched into a caterpillar. The caterpillar appears to be almost fully grown but yesterday it stopped eating and was acting slow. Is this normal and if not, can I help it?

Usually before it molts it rests for quite a long time (up to 24 hours). Don't touch it...just be patient and hopefully it is OK. Otherwise check out this caterpillar just laying there page.
