Butterfly Can't Fly

by Cathy
(LeagueCity)

I have a Butterfly that can't fly. Something is wrong with one of it's wings. I found it in my garden outside. What can I feed it? will it drink the Nectar for Hummingbirds? Is that the same as Butterfly Food? I have some of that on hand.
Thanks
Cathy

Karen says
Yes, you can feed it the hummingbird nectar. Also, Gaterade or Juicy Juice people have used. If the butterfly just emerged it could have a parasite, so make sure and sterilize, with a bleach/water solution, any items the butterfly might come in contact with that you would use again to raise a butterfly.
