Long tailed skipper - artistic-type?
by: Cindy

Can anyone tell me? Is that a remaining piece of Chrysalis on the top of this Skipper's head or is it something else?

My eyesight's not very good. But it wouldn't be unheard of. I've raised silkmoths and butterflies that occasionally do have remnants of a metamorphoses stuck here or there on their new bodies but never seen one that 'kept its hat on". Must be one of those artistic, non-conformist-types. Probably in the Arts.
